The Dell XPS 15 is now the only machine to have performance comparable to Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro. The problem is that the CPU and graphics card have remained one year old. However, this seems to change in the Consumer Electronics Fair in January. Because Dell accidentally posted the new XPS 15 product page on the website (it was removed shortly). It looks like the laptop will come with Intel’s quad-core Kaby Lake mobile processor and the Nvidia graphics card, which we do not yet know the details.
First, according to the specifications recognized by VideoCardz.com, the XPS 15 9560 has a 15-inch Ultra HD (3840 × 2160) display, a new quad-core Intel Kaby Lake processor (with i3-7100HQ, i5-7300HQ and i7-7700HQ options) and 4GB VRAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card will be presented. It will also include an optional fingerprint sensor that allows you to log in to Windows with a single touch.
We do not yet know the full specs of the GTX 1050 mobile display card because it is not disclosed but is expected to support VR (Virtual Reality) technology. Apart from that, the Dell XPS 15 stands out as a successful machine with its ultra-fast 4K InfinityEdge display and its exceptionally fast and versatile Thunderbolt 3 port. In addition, the SD card slot has ports that are not included in the new MacBook Pro, such as HDMI and USB. All these are combined in an aluminum and carbon fiber body weighing 1.8 kg.
There is a possibility that the leaked information may be wrong. However, we do not think all the new processors, graphics cards and fingerprint sensors added to the page accidentally. I would also add that the Dell wing does not yet respond to requests for clarification.
