Enough with paying to charge up your EV!
Electric car owners traveling through Australia will soon have the chance to keep their rides charged up without any cost thanks to the new Electric Super Highway in the Queensland coast, north of Australia.
According to announcement made by the government on Thursday, the passage will be free of cost in order to encourage drivers to leave their gasoline cars behind and changeover to the electric vehicles.
The EV friendly highway, which will be located between the Gold Coast and Cairns is expected to see 1,600 kilometers (1,000 mi). Fast charging stations will be placed throughout the highway to allow electric vehicle owners to travel without thinking about the charge-up costs.
“This project is ambitious, but we want as many people as possible on board the electric vehicle revolution, as part of our transition to a low emissions future. They will be available for use at no cost for the initial phase of the super highway so we can encourage as many people as possible to start using them.”” said Queensland’s Environment Minister and Acting Main Roads Minister Steven Miles.
