Elon Musk, one of the first names that comes to mind when we talk about extraordinary jobs, contrary to expectations, he does not think that flying cars will be a viable solution to our modern day traffic problems and doubts that it will replace the current transportation network.
Nowadays, many companies are investing in flying cars and trying to take their pieces from the emerging market. The company we can place at the top is the aviation giant Airbus, which will start testing its flying cars before the end of 2017. Also one of the Google founder’s, Larry Page has invested $100 million in Zee.Aero. Finally, Uber also announced that by 2026 they would put out a flying car that would be suitable for mass use.
Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging…

Speaking to Bloomberg in the past days, Musk commented on this whole problem.
Despite the extraordinary work done by TESLA and SpaceX, Elon Musk disagrees with expectations that flying cars will be the transportation of the future, unlike what is expected. Musk says he loves flying things, but expresses that flying cars are not the solution we need, Musk believes that flying cars can not bring relief from traffic despite all the developments. He also stated that they can cause great danger.
Elon Musk underscores that a vast majority of flying cars, such as these projects developed by Uber and Airbus, will have a VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) system and will actually enter a different category of aircraft rather than basically a car.
“If somebody doesn’t maintain their flying car, it could drop a hubcap and guillotine you,” he said. “Your anxiety level will not decrease as a result of things that weigh a lot buzzing around your head.”
