Choosing a good gaming monitor is a pretty hard task since there are a ton of options you can choose from. Some people prefer ultrawide monitors, some prefer curved and some look for features such as G-Sync & high refresh rate. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of monitors that have all of these features packed into one, at least not yet. The closest option to a ‘complete’ monitor is the Samsung CHG70.
I would recommend this monitor to everyone that is looking for an affordable gaming monitor which can be used for work, surfing the web, watching movies and more. The good part is that if you decide to purchase it, you won’t be limited to doing only one thing.
Samsung CHG70 Review
The Samsung CHG70 is an HDR, QLED & 144Hz curved gaming monitor that combines an affordable price with a top-notch performance, so let’s get quickly into action and find out why you should consider purchasing it in the first place.
From a design perspective, the Samsung CHG70 comes in two different sizes such as the 27-inch and 32-inch version that we are currently reviewing due to the fact that it is larger which means that you will have more space to completely immerse yourself.
This model is finished in dark grey, and boasts a 1800R curvature which makes it instantly suitable for a dual setup monitor. At the back, there is an RGB LED ring which holds the stand, and what’s interesting about that ring is the fact that it can glow and at the same time enhance your gaming ambient.
Moreover, the height adjustable stand that supports the whole cabinet is sturdy and well built, so it will keep the monitor stable as you’re making adjustments. To be more precise, you can make pivot adjustments from -2-degrees to 92-degrees, tilt from -5-to-15-degrees and swivel from -15-degrees-to-15-degrees.
However, if you’d like to preserve some desk space, you can use the included VESA mounting plate, so you will always have the appropriate viewing angles.
The connectivity ports include 2 HDMI ports, a USB 3.0 hub, headphone jack and you won’t find any built-in speakers, but that’s not a huge deal since you will probably use external ones or headphones during your gaming sessions.
Now, let’s talk about the features.
This CH970 has a VA panel with QHD resolution that supports the Quantum Dot Technology and AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 which makes the monitor capable of displaying lifelike visuals and well-defined colors, so the shown content, will be realistic and exactly as you’d expect without any distortion at all.
If we take into consideration that this unit has a response time of 1ms, a maximum refresh rate of 144HZ and HDR support means that this monitor is definitely a beat and is worth the price.
Overall, the Samsung CHG70 is worthy of considering, so give it a try and improve your gaming experience like you’ve never had before!
